The NRF Chair in African Foreign Policy and Diplomacy welcomes applications from post-graduate students wishing to undertake research in the field of diplomacy and foreign policy at an MA, PhD and post-doctoral level. The support and development of young researchers is at the heart of the Chair’s activities. Students are also encouraged to participate in conferences and seminars in order to build their networks and expertise within their areas of research.
Areas of research interest at the NRF Chair in African Diplomacy and Foreign Policy include:
- Foreign policy
- Global governance and the challenges of multilateralism
- Africa’s evolving peace and security architecture
- The role of Africa’s Regional Economic Communities (RECs)
- Africa’s strategic partnerships in the Global North and the Global South
